The Seattle Secondary looks to be the best in the League

Following a great rookie season Woolen will get back to work in that Seahawks secondary after an impressive first year in the NFL. Going to the Pro Bowl, collecting a league tying 6 interceptions and finishing second in Defensive Rookie of the year votes only behind Sauce and may have beat him if he was on a team that had more National coverage. Of course you have Diggs back at Safety coming off his third Pro Bowl selection and always dangerous if the ball is anywhere near him. With the departure of Ryan Neal they needed another solid Safety to fill his shoes so they made the move to bring in Julian Love from the Giants during Free Agency. Neal looks to make his impact felt and has gotten better in each of his four years with the Giants. Then there's is Jamal Adams that although is listed as a Safety really plays more like an outside linebacker so you will see what on paper would look like a 3-3-5 type defense with 3 safeties on the field so he gets included even though he won't likely play a true safety role. This next corner spot is interesting because Michael Jackson played the opposite corner of Woolen very well last season but they also have their first round (5th overall) pick of Devon Witherspoon making his way into the DB room and you don't take someone that high without the expectation they'll be stepping on the field which could make Jackson a Nickel Corner. This is basically an Embarrassment of riches when you are going to have a corner and probably a safety that would start for most other teams sitting on your bench for most of the game. That being said for a Pete Carroll culture of "always compete" no one in the room has the luxury of becoming complacent because your replacement isn't the big talent drop off that you sometimes see in the second string so these guys will definitely be bringing their A game everywhere they go to keep that starting roll.

As we edge closer to those preseason workouts and the trimming of the roster, filling in the rest of that secondary depth chart will be a fun process to watch.
